U.S. Department of State

The Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs (WHA) at the United States Department of State has partnered with the Innovation Fund for ten grant competitions since 2014 to foster partnerships between higher education institutions from across the Western Hemisphere so that they may create opportunities for student academic training and exchanges in diverse academic areas.

ICETEX

ICETEX partnered with the Innovation Fund in 2018 to support study abroad programs in peace building and post-conflict resolution, and in 2020 to support internationalization and student exchanges between Colombia and the U.S.

CAF partnered with the Innovation Fund on three grant competitions between 2015 and 2017 to support study abroad and training programs between the United States and Colombia, Peru, and Mexico.

Minciencias

Minciencias partnered with the Innovation Fund for two grant competitions in 2016 and 2019 to support student academic research and internship programs between Colombia and the U.S.

Santander Bank

Santander Bank partnered with the Innovation Fund on four grant competitions between 2014 and 2018 to expand student academic exchanges between the U.S. and the rest of the Western Hemisphere in all fields of study.

AgroAmerica

AgroAmerica partnered with the Innovation Fund in 2021 to promote student exchange opportunities in diverse fields between the U.S., Central America and the Dominican Republic.

SENAI

SENAI partnered with the Innovation Fund for the Brazil-U.S. Competition for Innovation & Technological Development in 2018 to foster student exchange and training between higher education institutions in both countries and SENAI Innovation Institutes in Brazil.

 

Coca-Cola Mexico Foundation

The Coca-Cola Mexico Foundation partnered with the Innovation Fund in 2014 and 2016 to promote student exchange programs between Mexico and the U.S.

MetLife Foundation

The MetLife Foundation partnered with the Innovation Fund in 2017 and 2018 to support exchange programs for underrepresented students in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, and the U.S.

Fundación Jenkins

The Mary Street Jenkins Foundation partnered with the Innovation Fund in 2018 and more recently, in 2020 to support student exchange and training programs between Mexico and the U.S.

Fundación Gruma

Fundación Gruma partnered with the Innovation Fund in 2019 to support student exchange programs between the U.S. and Mexico that focus on agricultural sustainability for inequality reduction.

SENA

SENA partnered with the Innovation Fund in 2015 and 2016 to support student exchange and training programs between community colleges and land-grant universities in the U.S. and SENA Technical/ Vocational Centers in Colombia.

Campus Puerto Rico

The Department of State of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico partnered with the Innovation Fund in 2015 to increase study abroad partnerships between higher education institutions in Puerto Rico and non-U.S. countries in the Western Hemisphere.

NAFSA

NAFSA: Association of International Educators collaborated with the Innovation Fund in 2016 to launch the Marlene M. Johnson Innovation Challenge for U.S.-Cuba, Caribbean, and Central American Academic Mobility.

Fundación Banorte

Fundación Banorte partnered with the Innovation Fund in 2019 to support student exchange programs between institutions in the U.S. and Mexico that focus on economic and financial inclusion.

Ford Foundation

Ford Foundation supported the startup phase and launch of the Innovation Fund.

Fundación Televisa

Fundación Televisa partnered with the Innovation Fund in 2016 to expand study abroad in Aeronautics, Agroindustry, Automotive Industry, Energy, and ICT between Mexico and the U.S.

Cementos Progreso

Cementos Progreso partnered with the Innovation Fund in 2019 to foster student exchange and training between the U.S., Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador in Environmental Studies and Sustainability.

Chevron Corporation

Chevron Corporation collaborated with the Innovation Fund in 2018 to promote STEM exchange and training programs for students in the U.S. and Argentina.

ExxonMobil Corporation

ExxonMobil Corporation partnered with the Innovation Fund in four competitions between 2014 and 2018 to promote study abroad in the areas of Engineering, Physics, Geology, and Geophysics between Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Guyana, Mexico, and the U.S.

Sempra Energy

Sempra Energy partnered with the Innovation Fund in 2017 to support study abroad and training opportunities between Peru and the U.S., and more recently, in 2020 to support exchanges and training between Mexico and the U.S.

Sapiencia

The Higher Education Agency of Medellín, Sapiencia partnered with the Innovation Fund in 2016 to promote international internship and scientific training for students at HEIs in Medellín, Colombia and the U.S.

Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold Foundation

Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold Foundation partnered with the Innovation Fund in 2013 to expand student exchange and training programs in STEM and sustainable development between higher education institutions in Chile, Peru, and the U.S.
