Chile and Michigan Inter-National Opportunity (CAMINO)

Grand Valley State University (GVSU), in partnership with Universidad del Bio-Bio (UBB), are embarking on a bilateral exchange program to increase north-south mobility and to build intercultural competence in under-represented students populations at both institutions. The CAMINO program seeks to reach students of color and those with high financial need at GSVU and students from the most under-resourced groups at UBB. Through the program, students will complete coursework for credit at their home institutions focused on developing communications and leadership skills and then will spend two weeks abroad at their host institution and with student counterparts, during which they will examine and analyze social problems from a local and global perspective, develop an action plan with strategies for problem-solving within the scope of their own discipline, and participate in cultural visits.
