The Higher Education Agency of Medellín (Agencia de Educación Superior de Medellín), Sapiencia, is an entity in Colombia whose mission is to contribute to the integral development of the city from the framework of the higher education system of the municipality and its various bodies through the management of public policies and resources. This enables the integral development of citizens and equal participation in a society of knowledge and innovation. Sapiencia is an initiative of the Mayor’s Office of Medellín, the first and only in Colombia, focused on formulating and leading the policy and guidelines of the higher education system of Medellín. They concentrate and promote the strategies for improving and strengthening the city’s higher education system.
